Managing Software Professionals

Course Details

The Managing Software Professionals course provides you with the opportunity to experience real-world management situations in a safe, mentored environment. The program comprises four Tasks over a six-week time period (part or full time). Each Task targets specific performance objectives and will provide you with the opportunity to practice key skills related to communicating with and managing software professionals. During the course, you will work on your own as well as in teams to interview candidates for hire, give and receive feedback, manage difficult employees, and create and provide persuasive presentations to upper management.

As a result of successfully completing this course, you will be able to:
  • Define and create effective job descriptions for new candidates.
  • Execute successful interview processes and select and hire top candidates.
  • Deliver actionable feedback in a positive manner and manage confrontations.
  • Increase self-awareness and be open to receiving feedback.
  • Create and set up positive product work environments.
  • Effectively analyze root problems for common performance problems.
