:: Monica Scamardo, M.S., Psy.D.

Dr. Monica Scamardo is the founder and president of Variate, LLC, a firm specializing in organizational and leadership development. She is an expert in applying research-based behavioral principles to organizational and workplace challenges. She has utilized systemic and strengths-based models with private, public, and nonprofit organizations for over 14 years.

As a consultant, Monica works with teams and leaders to identify problems that exist which undermine the organizational trust and therefore, impact productivity, employee engagement, and overall success. She implements trust building solutions to facilitate the results an organization is after.

As an executive coach, Monica works with emerging and experienced leaders on organizational challenges, team development, change management, and leadership development using assessment instruments aligned with the desired leadership competencies. Using her doctoral expertise in systems theory application, Monica works collaboratively with clients to manage the impact of organizational change and get results. Monica also works with middle and upper-level leaders using 360 results to broaden their leadership impact and gain mastery in key competencies. Coaching goals are developed collaboratively with measureable outcomes. Monica provides candid feedback and offers research-based frameworks that clients can actively implement on the job. Coaching meetings are interactive, dynamic and confidential.

Monica also speaks at the national, regional and state level and is known for her approachable style and ability to make research practical to the work environment. She facilitates team discussions and retreats focused on addressing the impact of organizational change, communication strategies, and building trust and morale. She is also certified in profile instruments (i.e., Birkman, Hogan, Social Styles) used to enhance the variety of training sessions she conducts in the areas of leadership and communication.

Monica received her undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at Austin, her Masters and Doctorate in Psychology with a specialization in Systems Theory at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. She, her husband and two daughters live in the Austin area.
