:: Glenn Martinez

Glenn Martinez received a Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an MPH in Border Health from the School of Rural Public Health at the Texas A&M Health Science Center. He has been a post-doctoral fellow at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in health disparities. He has also received training in medical interpreting from the National Center for Interpretation at the University of Arizona. Dr. Martinez has published scores of articles on language access in healthcare and is author of two books dealing with language issues along the U.S.-Mexico border. He is Professor of Spanish Linguistics and Director of the Medical Spanish for Heritage Learners program at the University of Texas Pan American.
