Project Management Institute logo

This course aids individuals who desire securing the Project Management Professional PMP® credential or the Certified Associate in Project Management CAPM® credential from the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Holding either of these certifications demonstrates a proficient level of project management leadership skills.

To be eligible for a PMP or CAPM credential, you must meet specific guidelines that objectively measure experience, education and professional knowledge. You must pass a rigorous examination composed of multiple-choice questions that measure your ability to apply knowledge, skills and techniques used in project management.

This course provides participants with practical guidance on how projects are managed with processes that align with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), 5th Edition. You'll find out what components of your project management background will be tested so you know where to focus your attention during the vital weeks of preparation.

Your instructor, a certified PMP, will review materials from the PMBOK® Guide and test preparation techniques. Your instructor will also help you become familiar with the makeup and format of the exam.

Please visit the PMI website for the latest information regarding these exams.

Our project management courses are aligned with the most current industry standard developed by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and utilize PMI's A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), Fifth Edition (Project Management Institute, Inc.). As a PMI Registered Education Provider, The University of Texas at Austin, Professional Development Center has been approved by PMI to issue professional development units (PDUs) for our courses (Provider # 1616).
