Course Details

One of the fastest growing areas of representation, environmental law is a great area of knowledge for any paralegal. This course includes study in the Legal Foundations of Environmental Law, History, Standing, Local Government Regulation, Risk Management, and Workplace Safety, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Clean Air Act (CAA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), Natural Resources Law: Hot Topics.

Program Cost

Each Specialist Certificate is $1,995.00 (Does not include text books). Students are required to pay for their books separately. The online book link is provided to students once they are enrolled in the program. The books vary from course to course, but average anywhere from $45 to $160 per book. However, used books are often available.

Prerequisite

To enroll, students must possess or have successfully completed one of the following:

  • A recognized Paralegal Certificate Program.
  • An Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies.
  • A Bachelor's Degree with a Paralegal Major.
  • A Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree in any field of study and proof of employment as a paralegal or legal assistant for the past 5 years in a law firm or corporation under the direct supervision of an attorney.

Computer Requirements

All incoming students are required to have access to a computer and Wifi. All course assignments and exam are submitted online.

Your computer should meet or exceed the following minimum requirements:

  • Pentium III 1 GHz processor
  • 256 MB RAM

Macintosh:
