The University of Texas at Austin, Professional Development Center is proud to announce the Paralegal Specialist Certificate Programs, designed to expand the educational and professional horizons for all paralegals.

The Paralegal Specialist Certificates provide both beginning and experienced paralegals with expansive educational and professional opportunities. The certificate programs allow paralegals to augment current skills and focus on virtually any area of the law. Choose from over 20 Paralegal Specialist Certificates and give yourself an edge in today's competitive job market.

Students may enroll at any time. Each online go-at-your-own-pace structure allows students to study when it is convenient. Each six month course includes one-on-one instructor guidance, exercises, quizzes, chapter reviews, lecture notes, and other innovative online learning tools.

Program Cost

Each Specialist Certificate is $1,995.00 (Does not include text books). Students are required to pay for their books separately. The online book link is provided to students once they are enrolled in the program. The books vary from course to course, but average anywhere from $45 to $160 per book. However, used books are often available.

Requirements

To enroll, students must possess or have successfully completed one of the following:

  • A recognized Paralegal Certificate Program.
  • An Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies.
  • A Bachelor's Degree with a Paralegal Major.
  • A Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree in any field of study and proof of employment as a paralegal or legal assistant for the past 5 years in a law firm or corporation under the direct supervision of an attorney.
