Writing Your Life Stories and Family History - February
Would you like to record life stories & family memories, combine them with your photos, and then print them for yourself and your family? This course leads you through writing 6 of your stories in a short format, sharing your stories with others, organizing the photos you’d like to include, and showing you how to add your text and photos to an online printing service such as Mixbook, Shutterfly or MyCanvas. After the course, you are ready to enter your content into an online printing site and create a wonderful heirloom. (Scanning & printing costs are not included in this course)
The course uses a method called Guided Autobiography, which is way of helping people record their life stories. Each story is based on a life theme such as Family, Transitions, or Life Work. Each session introduces the theme and distributes exercises that help trigger memories, as well as discover depth and meaning in experiences. During the week, participants record their stories and vignettes in 2 pages and then read them to a small group (about 3-4). Participants have said that this is one of their favorite parts of the course.
If you’ve wanted to record, share, and preserve your stories and still haven’t started - this is the course to get you going!
