Travel to Korea: Intro to Modern Korean Culture and Tourist Attractions
This course explores various aspects of modern Korean culture in the twentieth century. We will examine a range of cultural practices and norms as well as various topics relevant to traveling to Korea. This class will also introduce vocabulary and expressions that are useful for everyday conversation. No previous course work in Korean or Korean studies required. All readings and visual materials are in English translation.
Instructor Jeong-Bin Hannah Park has taught Korean as foreign language for more than 6 years and English as second/foreign language for more than 12 years. She is a Ph.D. candidate at the Foreign Language Education program in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Texas at Austin.
