Introduction to Salsa Dancing

Austin is proving that in the diverse world of Salsa dancing, the “On 2” or “New York Style” is growing quickly and becoming a standard for those who want to dance here or internationally. This course will not only teach you the basic steps of this popular Salsa style, you will learn them with a level of understanding beyond the superficial and easily forgettable. The instruction will include a brief history of Afro-Cuban music and dance including: actual live performance of all the percussion instruments so your ear will be as expert as your feet, and lessons in terminology so you can build a solid foundation for future study and understand both the music and culture of this great dance.  All ages are welcome!
