Eco-Hike the Great Outdoors!

Prepare for your outdoor hiking and backpacking adventure by learning how to dress and pack for your destination trail and how to stay safe once you get there.  Focusing on the ecoregions within Texas, this course enables you to appreciate nature not only for its long views, but also for its complexity and connectedness. Notice the wildlife from large to very small, ponder the soil’s nurture of plants, and discover secrets held within the ecosystem that you traverse.

Requirements:

Please bring $7 to the first class meeting which will cover the cost of a healthy snack (second class meeting) and course handouts.  Students may download the course outline for additional information.

The last class meeting on May 11 will take place at Eastwoods Park and include a hike; click here for park location and map.

All students must complete the university’s Release and Indemnification Agreement at the first class meeting.  Adults will complete this form and minors will complete this form.  Please bring the completed agreement with you to the first class meeting and forward it to the instructor.
