Stand Up Comedy - Comedy Gym

Interested in becoming a comedian or putting humor in your life? Learn to make others laugh and you’ll feel more comfortable at parties or speaking to groups! Humor can make all the difference. In this stand-up comedy workshop, you’ll learn techniques used by pros to write original jokes and gain ease in performing a monologue. The class concludes with the opportunity to perform in a showcase. Tuition includes comedy writing and performing workbook and CD.

Sam Cox has taught comedy workshops for over 25 years and has written for many comedians including Robert Hawkins, Shucky Ducky and Jay Leno. Graduates include: Seth Rogan, Robert Hawkins, Megan Mooney, Billy D. Washington, Greg Warren, Jimmy Roulette, Shucky Ducky and Vicki Shaw. 

Requirements: Class will not be held on July 5. The showcase will be scheduled at the end of the course. Attendance to the rehearsal is mandatory in order to appear in the showcase. Make-up classes are available through the instructor when personal conflicts occur.

Class meets at Wildflower Terrace Library (1st floor), 3801 Berkman Drive, Austin 78723. Parking is available on the street and with advanced notice in the secure and covered parking garage.
