Black and White Darkroom Photography

In this hands-on course, you will use traditional black-and-white film photography and learn how to make beautiful and striking images from their negatives in a darkroom.  Lessons will focus on learning how to properly develop film and make prints from negatives using an enlarger.  Instructor and photographer Anthony Maddaloni will discuss photographic style in regards to black-and-white photography, demonstrate the film development process, and more!

Requirements:

Materials and equipment required for this course include:

  • A camera that shoots in manual mode is preferred but students may bring one that shoots in auto mode; bring to the first class meeting.
  • Black and white film—any brand.
  • $20 lab fee due to the instructor at the first class meeting.
  • Materials to take notes.

This class requires all participants to complete and sign a University Release and Indemnification Agreement before being considered enrolled in the class.  The form can be downloaded by clicking on this link.  Bring the completed form to the first class meeting and forward to the instructor.
