Art in Nature: Ink Painting on Paper
This studio course will introduce the vibrant techniques of using India inks in black and colors on a variety of papers. We will use botanical specimens as subject matter for the paintings. The techniques of using inks are varied; brush and pen techniques will be introduced.
The historical traditions of Japanese and Chinese ink painting will be discussed as inspiration for your work. Some previous drawing or painting experience is helpful. Please bring an apron or old shirt to protect your clothing.
Moore will provide all materials to participate in this class, so all you need is your artistic energy and some type of protective clothing to wear. (India ink is permanent!)
The artist will also supply interesting botanical specimens for you to interpret in this exciting media.
