Rhythm Is Life - African Hand Drumming

The pulse of African drums provides healing and inspires creativity in any musical process.  Discover the origin and progression of drums through music history.  Learn authentic African rhythms from a native of West Africa in this fun, hands-on class.  No prior musical experience required.

One class session will occur at The Sahara Lounge, 1413 Webberville Road, Austin, TX 78721. 

Instructor Ibrahim Aminou is a native of West Africa who has devoted his life to music. He has been teaching in the United States since 1999. View more information about Ibrahim on his instructor page.

Requirements: A drum can be supplied to you for the first 4 sessions; you must provide your own drum for the last four sessions.

Please note this class requires all participants to complete and sign a University Release and Indemnification Agreement before being considered enrolled in the class. The form can be downloaded from our FAQs page.
